Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello,

P6 has a default 8hrs/day (Hours/Time period). If we create a calendar of 10 hrs/day, the duration gets affected because of the default 8hrs/day. What's the best way to fix this.

Regards,

SAN

Dear Zoltan,

Thank you for your support. I tried ur lead. But its not working. The dates are the same. i.e., the start date of the successor and the end date of the predecessor are the same for FS relationships like in mentioned in my previous comment.

Hi friends,

I need a help of the similar kind. I have an 8 h/d calender assigned to my project, but with an exception of 6 h/d assigned to one month in between. But for every activities that come along with and after the exception dates are showing problems in their start dates. For eg: for all the FS relations the successors are supposed to start one day after the finish date of the predecessor, but the successor is tarting on the same date the predecesso ends. Also when i give a lag on the activity resource asssignment by say 3 days on the days of exceptions, the start dates shift by 4 or 5 days. I cleared the later problem by giving lags in fractions.

How can i rectify such problems? Will this happen whenever there is an exception to the claender?

PS: I am new in planning. apologies if my question is a blunder

Thanking you in advance

Regards

Naseeb

Assuming you have properly set the Hours per Time Period in your 10-hour calendar ("Time Periods" command), then go to Admin Preferences/Time Periods/Hours per Time Period and check the box for "Use assigned calendar to specify the number of work hours for each time period."

Alternately, you could change the default values in the Admin Preferences.
