Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Scrubbing "Methodology Data" from an old P6 (i.e. Version 3.5) XER File

Is there a way to strip "Methodology Data" from an old P6 file (ie Version 3.5) so that it can be imported into Version 7 or Version 8? Already know the Notepad "Cheat" to get an old version into P6, just not sure about the "Methodology Data" part. The file is only to be used as a template, so data integrity is not terribly important.

Thanks,

Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately Primavera modifid some names.

XER is a text format which you can open with any editor. The best for you in opinion will be to print out the old and an xer with a current format.

%T is always the start of a new group. So check the headlines and modify them if different. If some groups are missing, this shouldn't matter.

In the first line you must change 3.5 into e.g. 7.0. As far as I remember the format was the same for MM and PM.

Good luck!
