Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

There are different earned value Techniques like 0-100 / 50-50, etc.

In Open Plan you can define different technique for every activity.

Flexible huh!

My response was "In OPP v3.1 there is an option to allocate an EVT to each activity HOWEVER OPP does not actually use that information. For example, if you added an EVT of 0-100 it would let you enter in 50%."

I was referring to how open plan works not how Earned Value works. In OPPv3.1 you can assigned an EVT to each activity HOWEVER it doesn’t use that information THEREFORE a user CAN enter in 50% on an activity which was meant to be 0-100 and it WILL calculate the EV at 50% of BAC.

Frank is correct. Also, if you are using progress calculations to compute Physical Percent complete you must check the option to ’Base Physical Percent Complete on EVT’.

J,

0-100 means you do not earn any value until you reach the 100% mark....you can still be 50% complete and you will find the earned value reported is $0 and will remain so until you reach 100% complete.
