Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,
I have an activity in which a resource is 20% allocated on the first week, 80% on the second week and 100% on the last week.
Is there an option to create this task without splitting the it into 3 different ones?

Thanks,
Assaf

Hi Assaf,

It can be done in MS Project but it’s time consuming and requires a lot of manual intervention each time you update the task.

View > More Views > Task Usage

Change the timescales so that the lower tier display weeks or days and adjust the work assignment so that the first week has a total of 1d effort, the second week has a total of 4d effort and the third week has a 5d total of effort.

I wouldn’t recommend you do this though, you’ll probably end up amending the resources 24hrs a day rather than managing and updating the schedule.

Regards,

Darren

If you need to do this across your whole project, then MS Project will not do it.
Try Micro Planner X-Pert for Windows as it allows up to 20 separate entries for a resource per task
