Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Probably a Silly Question...

OK, it’s probably staring me right in the face, but how do you unsubscribe from a thread in the PP Forums?

Well, it didn’t work for me in this thread either...

I’m trapped; doomed to a life of PP emails in my inbox! :-)

Clive...

I’ve already tried that and it made not the slightest bit of difference! I still get emails every day from the same thread...and assuming ’unticking’ works, which it appears not to, it means you have to post again in the same thread whether you want to or not, just to get out of it.

In fact I’m trying it again in this post! :-)

Cheers

Charlie...

Without placing too much of a ’burden’ on the admin, don’t you think that there is perhaps a fundamental flaw in the software used for the forum that makes it impossible to unsubscribe from a thread?

I think I’d be very tempted to bite the bullet and bin this software (as pretty as it is) and use something more user friendly.

Now here’s me adding junk mail to everyone’s inbox by posting this... it’s reached the stage where I dread seeing PP in my inbox!!

P.S. Charlie, please DON’T reply to this post!

I have an idea also.

I think the problem is not that you get messages from PP but that most of the messages are irellevant resulting in you looking at postings that make no sense.

The way to stop that, not just for you but for everyone, would be to stop Charlie posting. He is personally responsible for generating 90% of the PP crap that turns up in my in box, crap leads to further crap and before you know it you can’t cope anymore!

HI Derek,

I dont have to tell you to act on the way im doing things.

My only wish is that in my simple and humble way of doing things in PP, a solution was found on how to deal with messages from PP without placing to much burden to PP volunters to customize everything we want from PP.

Cheers,

Joseph

Hi Derek,

This may not be smart move for you but same to you i did encounter similar problem.

My personal email is comes from yahoo.com. I notice that im inundated with lots of PP messages.

What I did???????????????

I created a gmail.com account (email) and tell PP to sent all PP messages to my gmail account.

Now all PP messages goes to my gmail account, its unlimited gbytes anyway. So in my leisure time I open my gmail account and see what PP send. Anyway, I know what PP send since I always open PP.

I know a lot of guys having this problem.

Smart or not, what do you think????

Cheers,

Joseph

Perhaps you could elaborate on this or enlighten me as to how to go about it... telling me it can be done isn’t much use without showing me how.

Cheers

Thanks, Nicolas...

I thought it might be something a bit wacky like that since there is no user control panel as such...

Hi Derek

One way is to post a reply in that thread and
delete the check in the "Email me:" section

One question bringing up another:
Is there a way to list one’s own posts?

Regards

Nicolas
