Guild of Project Controls: Compendium | Roles | Assessment | Certifications | Membership

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Welcome...

Dear Members,

We at Planning Planet have created this Guild Discussion Forum to help our friends and colleagues at The Guild of Project Controls (GPC) to share their news, views and updates until they are in a position to run their own dedicated website.

There is lots going on and we (PP) are doing our bit to help The Guild by offering them this forum for general news and announcements and to help PP Members and GPC Members improve upon the Guild Compendium Modules.

Therefore Planning Planet insists on some rules:

(1) Threads Started by Guild Management:  The Guild can only use the forum to advertise specific Guild news and views.  No commercial advertisement or off-topic posts will be permitted.  Any thread not adhering to this will be removed by PP Admin.
(2) Threads Started by Planning Planet Members or Guild Members:  If any Planning Planet Member or Guild Member makes a post here then it must refer to one of the Guild Modules and it must relate to a specific topic, it must be educational, it must be professionally conducted and above all it must be proposed with the intent of encouraging and initiating change (for the better).  Any thread not adhering to this is to be removed by PP Admin or GPC Admin.
(3) Thread Titles: except for Guild advertisements, all thread titles are to begin with the Guild module number that the comment refers to; for example "M03-3 - Stakeholder Expectations..." plus details of the issue.  This is necessary in order to keep discussion specific and targeted so that discussion can be offered in such a way that it will move towards an actionable item which will serve to improve on the module being referenced.  Any thread not titled like this must be re-titled by the initiator or GPC Admin.  If not, then PP Admin will remove it.
(4)  Top Initial Post: except for Guild advertisements, the initiating top post of all threads must consist of the following titles along with the initiators discussion points under each title:

(a) EXTRACTED MODULE CONTENT BEING DISCUSSED:

< insert the text you extracted from the module that you wish to discuss >
(b) MY THOUGHTS / OBSERVATIONS:

< insert your thoughts in regard to one specific issue from the extracted content >
(c) MY PROPOSED CHANGES:

< insert your proposed changes to the one specific issue to improve upon the extracted content >
(d) MY JUSTIFICATIONS:

< insert documented or experience based justifications that support your proposed improvements >

Rigour must be applied so the reader can be introduced to the specific point of discussion.  If there are more than one topic from the same module, then create a new post for each topic.  Any thread not in this manner must be amended by the initiator, or is to be removed by GPC Admin.

(5) Etiquete & Behaviour: To align with Planning Planet Forum Rules all posts must be professional in nature and not deflamatory or considered as offensive to anyone / by anyone.  Any thread reported as offensive by more than 2 Planning Planet members is to be amended by the initiator, or it will be removed by GPC Admin or PP Admin.
(6) Application: Anyone investing time and effort in posting in this forum must abide by these rules and in doing so they agree to be professional and support the rules and their intent.  Planning Planet is not going to allow the Guild to utilise it valuable bandwidth in general and non-productive discussion.  All Guild related discussion must reside in the forum we provide for the Guild because shortly this will all be moved, along with the Guild, to its own website.  These are the Rules as agreed but Planning Planet reserves its right to propose to change them if, in its own opinion, it finds the Guild to be utilising its internet bandwidth with idle chit chat or non-productive discussion.

Regards...
