Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I want to know if anyone had been in a situation an error in the BOQ rate is too low with substantial quantities and another item with high rate with few quantities.

The main question is a variation to the item that is priced too low with substantia quantities arose. Also there is a variation order of Omission to the item priced tooo high. What is the best approach for the Contractor to go about this.

Waiting to hear from you guys

Raphael,

Starting position is that you’re stuck with them. You win some, you lose some, that’s the nature of business.

Should a variation (rather than omission) come up you would have to try and argue that the conditions / characteristics that you are now performing the work under is sufficiently different from that you priced to justify a re-rate. That may only apply to the varied work though.
