Planning Manager, Robertson Construction Group, Aberdeen, Emergency Care Centre Project

START Date:
December, 2009

Planning Manager on the CIOB Gold Class Winner Award 2013 for the 40-100 Million category. I lead the planning of the Robertson Group’s largest single project awarded to date. This project, value circa £100 million was the first project awarded under the NHS Framework route of procurement. Managed under the NEC3 form of Contract. My role was extensive, being one of the first appointed, to develop the intensive logistical solutions; planning and preliminary costings for Stage 3, through to construction under Stage 4.

Management of the fully logic linked, and resourced dynamic programme as required under NEC3. The 10,000 activity programme contained design and procurement of all packages and coordinated through to the construction activities. Programme was progress-monitored weekly to track status and forward forecast milestone projections.

I managed 2 full-time planners within the team. I also act as a mentor and trainer to both this team and the Robertson Group personnel in all aspects of planning and programme management, and NEC3 contract awareness within the team.
