Planned Finish Date, Finish Date, BL Finish Date

Dear all, I want help,I have to create a revised Schedule and i want to modify Dates according to the  new dates (on the extension time paper) what the Column should I use ? Planned Finish, Finish, or Bl Finish Columns  just to modify dates according to extension time paper.I think that first I should to modify dates by using Finish Column.and after that assign that Project and start to use ( BL Finish Column ) to compare the updating Schedule Dates (on Finish Col.) with the new revised Schedule Dates (on BL Finish Col.). and about Planned Finish Column we just use it with Comparing the Main Baseline with the updated.?What Do you think, Please guide me that's right or now?
